We are a well rooted WV children and family service agency, dating back to 1896. We have a long legacy of serving WV children, through adoption, foster care, our emergency shelters, and many other ways. ?Our mission is ? to promote the well being of children. Our current efforts are directed at helping children find lifetime families, protecting and nurturing children, and helping preserve and strengthen their families.?

We have 12 sites around the state of West Virginia. Each site (including our Mid Ohio Valley site, in Parkersburg) fulfill the mission and respond to unique local needs within that mission. Our Parkersburg site is around 30 years old, and provides a wide range of supports from families with infants, to teens transitioning to adulthood, in need of supports.

We serve children through adoption, foster care, emergency shelter, school and after school support services, home visiting supports to families with young children, a mentoring program and more. ?A particular need we meet, is older youth, who are homeless, and lacking the supports normally provided for youth transitioning to adulthood; such as guidance in making successful choices about careers, jobs, education, housing, life skills, money management.

The fund raising we often do, through live music events, supports in a very concrete way, our services such as these. Money raised through this fund raiser, will assist these homeless older youth, with deposits for rent, utility deposits, ?start up? items needed for an apartment or job hunting. ?Supporters and donors can be assured, these locally raised funds are used very specifically to help these young people of the Mid Ohio Valley, and a donation goes a long way toward helping a young person get off to a good start in their adult life.
